P IL O T office, Monday, and an ­
nounced he was on the b a ttle ­
ship N EW H A M PSH IR E, in
191?, then being a seam an. He
discussed m utual acquaintances
w ith M. S. B rainard, w ho w as
on the sam e ship, a t the sam e
time. N eith er had seen the o th e r
since and as then? w ere over
1,000 men in the crew , didn't re ­
m em ber each other. Dyzik is now
on reserve from the service, as
a Chief W a rra n t Officer and w ith
his fam ily lives not too fa r from
Bill Hynes, also through w ith
m any years' N aval Service.
Dyzik left the N EW H A M P­
SH IR E , in 1917, to go into de­
stroyers overseas, and B rainard
left about the sam e tim e, being
tra n sfe rre d to N aval A viation,
overseas.

Mike P age dropped in to say
he has great hopes in th e pub­
lic, and especially the o rg an iz at­
ions of th e town, w ill get down
to business on the Scout B uild­
ing. Mike says, th a n k s to the
friends of Scouting, th e concrete
blocks a re all paid for but the
bill to H orton B rothers, who
layed them .
T here is on? point, Mike says,
w here th e re is considerable m is­
understanding and m ight be
holding people out and th a t is
the m a tte r of the Odd Fellow s
sponsorship of th e deal. Mike
says—and others back him up,
th at, in th e first place th e Scouts
would have nothing to do w ith
the p roperty and th e Odd F e l­
lows had to take title to it but —
and this is a very large but. ac­
cording to the sponsors: in case
the Scouts should fold up here
it is in th e deed th a t the title

formed in Brookings. The nam e
of it is the Cut and Sew Girls.
The m eetings will be held at the
home of Mrs. M uriel Cragg, who
is the Club Advisor.
At the first meeting, the group

of many long y ears standing in
C urry County, have passed from
am ong us. They will sincerely be

58. died suddenly on his Sixes
River ranch and was buried a t
D enm ark. F red Hofess, age 87,
had ranched on F loras Creek
since 1894, and died there, on
November 30, and was also b u r­
ied a t D enm ark.
