That pessimism can he heard from other people
too. And it seems very unneessary. In fact, when we
heard it the other day at a meeting of the Chamber of
Commerce, and their new Tax Research Group we
could hardly believe it. After all, no other community
in the country has that problem. All of them are
worried sick over the possibility of being short of
school space in the future. And here some of us sit
with no more confidence in our area than to worry
about having vacant school property.
Besides that, if schools would he vacant after
a “mass exodus’’ from Curry County, wouldn’t the
purposed Curry County Courthouse be a litttfe on the
unused side too?

There is a good deal of talk about the poss­
ibilities of over-building, in regard to local school fac­
ilities. A report from the county court indicated that
they too were concerned with the area overbuilding,
only then to see people move away in droves, and then
the schools standing vacant.
