To the People of Brookings:
T he water supply ol our city is rapidly Being
diminished beyond a sale reserve. 1 his is caused by
the extremely dry seascon and lack of water in the
streams feeding the reservoirs. 1 he Brookings
Water Company has advised the council that the
situation shall he corrected as soon as possible by
going to another stream where pumping equipment
will soon he installed and pipelines laid to pump
additional water into the large reservoir.
For the next thirty days your Mayor and
Council respeetfullv asks your coop ration. So that
all of us may have his share of water, you are asked
to conserve water at all tunes. Please do not use
water except for personal necessities.
T he situation is one of emergency. Let s pull
ourselves out of this emergency as a reasonable and
fair minded people who have regard for ourselves
and our neighbors.
You may he assured that your mayor anil
council shall do everything in their power to help
and that the Brookings Water Company is making
every effort to correct the shortage as soon as possible.
