It is time once again for the
communities of Brookings and
Harbor to stop their daily toil to
pay homage to the lily.
T his co m m unity owes a g re a t
deal to th e Lily. It w as th e dis­
covery of th e fact th a t o u r cli­
m a te an d soil is p erfectly suited
to th e lily ’s p ro p agation which
f irs t s ta rte d 'B rookings on its
com eback from being a ghost
town. And when th e bloom had
w orn from the first Lily rush, it
still w as a larg e and increasingly
sta b le fa cto r in th e econom y of
th is region.
