K. F. Jacobsen and Co., Inc., of
P o rtlan d was low bidder on the
paving of Pacific and Hillside
Avenues in Brookings, according
to word released by S ta te High­
w ay Commission.
Jacobsen’s bid was $14,175.00
The bid was referred to the state
engineer for awarding.
P relim in ary grading and the
construction of curbs on the two
s tre e ts has been virtually com­
pleted by Leroy W eideman, loeal
contractor. Jacobsen and Co. are
expect» <1 to begin their contract

tra c ts w ere aw arded at the Com­
m ission’s meeting. A contract to
build the Rock Point viaduct on
H ighw ay 101 south of Port O r­
ford was aw arded to Wall Bar-
tra m and Sanford of Junction Citv
for $120,465.00. And M ark Sm ith
«rid Company of K lam ath Falls
received the contract to fence the
new highw ay’s right-of-w ay from
o miles south of Port Orford to
ten nul. s north of Gold Beach for
$19,580.00.
