* Right Around Here
Thuraday evening is very defi
nitely Ladies’ Night at the Azaler
Lanes. All alleys are filled and
there are some very capable fe
male keglers there demonstrating
their skill. Lacking instruments,
it ts very hard to tell whether or
not they make more noise than
the males but they sure lack
nothing in enthusiasm and have,
if anything, a larger audience.

-T he U.S.F.S. is planning to get
„ their property on the southeast
corner of Redwood and Alder,
across the former street from the
library site, ready to build, right
away, according to Don Cameron,
civil engineer of the Siskiyou N a
tional Forest. Cameron stated
the first step was to get the half
acre plot brushed off. This will
allow them to get an idea of what
must, be done for further develop
ment which includes an office
luilding, scheduled to be com-
1 'eted before next July 1. En-
i ance to the property will prob-
• >ly be from the stub of highway
and from Redwood street. Cam
eron states office space is needed,
especially because of the proba
bility of future stumpage sales
by the Forest- Service.
Word was received here of the |
death of Tom Page, at San Diego,
during the past week. Tom for
several yehrs ran the Nook Cafe |
here. He and his widow, H e ->n
who survives, 're very well re
membered.
