Langlois Daily Vacation Bible
school closed Friday evening a fte r
a very successful session. There
was an average attendance of
about 85. The program Friday
evening was a dem onstration of
1 some of the things the children
J had learned during the two
weeks they attended. Also a dis­
play of th eir handicraft was in
evidence.
Friends and neighbors of Mr.
and Mrs. O. K. Wilcox gathered
at th eir homy Monday evening for
a |K»t!uck dinner honoring Mr.
Wilcox’s birthday. A social eve­
ning followed the dinner.
Mr. and Mrs. Shoults of Patos
Island of the San Juans, visited
Mr. and Mrs G. W. Bennett over
the past weekend at Cajx' Blanco.
It's a hoy for Mr. and Mrs.
William Kram er, born June 11 at
Bandon hospital. This is the sec­
ond boy.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pancratz of
Auburn, Wash., were weekend
guests of Mr. and Mrs. G. W.
Bennett at Cape Blanco.
Cheryl and Mrs. Marlowe spent
last week in N orth Bend visiting
Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Gallia.
Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Furhm an,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lamb of Co­
quille and Mamie Speagle, a
guest enjoyed a picnic lunch at
Humbug park last Sunday.

past two weeks. She left for her
home Friday morning.
Mr. anil Mrs. Bert Griffon and
daughter Ju a n ita of M yrtle Point
spent Sunday, Ju n e 14, at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bark-
low. The group celebrated the
19th wedding anniversary of Mr.
and Mrs. Barklow with a dinner
at the Castaw ay in Port Orford.
The parents and sister of Rich­
ard Mooney from Elma. Wash.,
were Sunday dinner guests of Mr.
and Mrs. H. E. Bennett on the
Ralph Cope ranch where Richard
is employed.
Mr. and Mrs. George Hawkins,
Joyce, Doris and W arren, Mrs.
Lulu Cope. Mr. and Mrs. E. S.
Sweet of Bandon and Mr. and
Mrs. Ralph Cope of Langlois drove
to Pow ers and Agness having a
picnic dinner at Agness Sunday.
They reported the road in good
condition.
Mr. Culver from San Francisco
is visiting Mr. and Mrs. R. L.
H ildebrand for a time.

children of Roseburg visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Jo Nilsen and Mr.

the governm ent.

gone to Lakeview to visit their

They expect to be gone a month.
Ralph Cope went to Montague,
Calif, for a load of hay the la tte r
part of the week.
Mrs. Charles Jensen and chil­
dren. W ilbur, M errie, Bonnie and
Jenny left for Portland Tuesday.
