roof, composition shingles. Stucci
will be used for outside finish.

interested in Scouts are wel
come to attend m eetings and to
enter into all discussions.

On May 18 and 19, the S ta te
Highway Commission will receive
bids on three projects in Curry
County. The two m ajor projects
involve (1) grading, paving and
(2) the construction of three
bridges on the Brush Creek-
Frankport Unit of the Rm (
Point-Gold Beach Section of the
Oregon Coast Highway.
The first project calls for 2.10
miles of grading. 501 miles o*
rock base and 5.01 miles of
asphaltic concrete pavement 3 L
inches thick, with 3 to 1 foot
oiled shoulders alongside to as
sist in the prevention of watt*,
infiltration
under
pavement
edges. The rock base and pav
ing work will include and cover
the section now being graded be
tween Brush (’reek and Rine
hart Creek under a previously
awarded contract. Due to heavy
slide conditions, special construc
tion methods will be used in
benching and draining heavy cuts
fronting Arizona Inn, and coun
terbalanced tills will be used on
fills over unstable ground su r
faces to prevent overloading and
excessive fill settlem ents at those
points.
A 150-foot reinforced
concrete bridge over Brush Creek,'
a 110-foot reinforced concrete
beam and deck on tim ber pile
bridge over M yrtle Creek and
sim ilar stru c tu re 75 feet in
length over Mussel Creek will
complete the stru c tu ra l work
(except for the Rinehart Creek
Bridge to be let at a la te r date)
on this unit.

at the Grange Hall.

m ately ninty dollars was turned
over to the Library Association,
the complete proceeds of this
function.

charge of the attractiv ely decor
ated tea table and was assisted

in profusion about the room
