Just About Folks
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grayshel
and Mrs. B ertha W hirry went to
Tillamook. Oregon, on Thursday,
Dee. 17, to attend the funeral of
an old friend. They will retu rn to
Brookings on Sunday.
Rev. M umbower and family will
not send cards locally this year
because of the overload at the
post office but they extend the
season’s greetings to all their
friends elsewhere in this paper.
The high school group of the
B aptist Com m unity church with
th eir friends will go caroling on
C hristm as eve. The group will
then retu rn to the church for re­
freshm ents afterw ard.
The regular C hristm as party of
the Ladies M issionary Society of
the Baptist Com m unity church,
which was to have been held at
the home of Mrs. Mumbower, was
canceled because of the death of
Mrs. Stevenson, who had long
been an active m em ber of the or­
ganization.
The C hristm as program pre­
sented by the Sunday school of
the Baptist Com m unity church
was given last Sunday evening
and was a m ost successful por­
tray al of the C hristm as story.
Mrs. Ed McClain was in charge

home. Mr. and Mrs. Haycock will
roast a turkey and have all the
trim m ings for their guests.
Wes Sibley, who occasionally
sets type for the Pilot, and Mrs.
Sibley will go to Eugene, Ore., to
s|x»nd the holidays w ith relatives.
