(9m i g a a ic v ii liisitk,
‘ Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all
people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour,
which id Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:10, 11.)
It was with infinite condescension that the Son of God left
I leaven’s glory and the bosom of the Father to come to earth to take
upon I limself qur humanity. A borrowed manger cradled Him, and
and a borrowed tomb sheltered His crucified body, for 1 le said, “Foxes
have holes and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man
hat not where to lay His head.”— (Matthcwv 8:20).
Christmas is a season of rejoicing and thanksgiving to our I leav-
enlv Father for “His unspeakable gift.” For even the Son of man
came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life
a ransom for many.”— (Mark 10:45).
As we commemorate our Saviour’s birth, may He become more

cock, lately of Tigard. Ore., have
leased the Nook Cafe, taking over
management on Monday, Dec 22.
Mr.. May cock does his own cook
ing and has earned a reputation
as an excellent cook in the sec
tions where they have owned
businesses. The Java Cup in
Portland in 1940, Burgoyne’s Cof
fee Shop in Oregon City, the Cor
ner Cafe in Gresham, Oregon, and
the Coffee Shop in Tigard, Ore
gon, have all been owned or man
aged by the Maycocks during the
past few years. They feel that
they, can provide Brookings with
good food and service and extend
an invitation to residents to come
in and get acquainted.
Mrs. Jerry Bomar Page, former
manager, will be at her home in
Coos Bay. Ill health the last few
months has kept her away from
the Nook much of the time.
