Meet Just About Folks The annual convention of the Oregon F airs association held at P ortland last wek was attended by over 100 delegates from the thirty-six counties in Oregon. Re­ ports m ade by county fairs over the s ta te indicated last y e a r’s ses­ sion was one of the best on re - -ord with exhibits, and attendance in m ost cases breaking all pre- \ ùus records. The county fair boards reported the fairs w ere on a sound finan­ cial footing with very little red ink in evidence. This was large­ ly credited to the assistance re ­ ceived from the sta te through pari-m utuel funds and the discon­ tinuance ol the federal am use­ m ent tax on general admission. M ultnom ah county fair m anager, D uane Hennessy, however, report-1 cd th at their fair was losing money and appealed for special help. The association referred this proposal to the individual fail boards throughout the slate.
