Deep-Sea Fishing
Remains Attractive
Although the school is heading
northw ard, presum ably to en ter
the Columbia or some other coast
al river lor spawning, silverslde
salmon fishing this week rem ains
quite an a ttrac tio n to local people
and tourists who are Hocking the
area by scores.
Although the sea was rath e r
rough Sunday, fair catches were
reported, but S atu rd a y ’s catches
w ere average or above.
C edar Lane Cannery has been
keeping the Pilot printing office
busy for a few days preparing the
can labels for the fish which has
been piled in that establishm ent.
This, in addition to the com
m ercial canning done by the firm,
puts all hands to work seven days
a week. Many labels are needed.
P ark ers Anchorage personnel is
kept in high gear trying to ac
com m odate the people wishing to
go out deep-sea fishing.
