council shall be to consider broad
questions o f policy, program and
procedure affe ctin g the adm inis
tra tio n of Forest Service a c tiv itie s
in the P acific N o rth w e st, and to
give the Regional F orester and
E xperim ent S ta tio n D ire c to r the
benefit of its opinion. Responsi
b ility fo r final decisions m ust re
m ain w ith the Forest Service in
accordance w ith e x istin g laws and
regulations. M em bers o f the coun
c il are serving w ith o u t pay and
w ith o u t re-im bursem ent fo r tra ve l
o r expense.
R egular m eetings wiJl be held

in Novem ber. O th e r m eetings m ay
be called by e ith e r the Regional
F orester o r D ire c to r to o b tain the
opinion o f the council on m a tte rs
