Trees Planted In
Cfnetco Watershed
GOLD BEACH—According to a
statement by John Porisch, dis
trict ranger, 49,000 trees have
been planted on the Chetco dis
trict of the Siskiyou National
Forest. This was 85 acres planted
on Jordan creek unit of the Haight
& Folkin’s sale. The slash had
been burned by the Fortt Sen ice
last October and planting be
gan February 23.
In charge of George Morey of
Cave Junction, this job was com
pleted March 9, with an 8-man
crew. This tract is located east
of the Dale Bravo ranch. Funds
to cover the cost of planting were
accumulated by a 40c per thous
and deposit by timber sales ope
rators.
