Elimination of the Harbor curves, according to many
people, has not relieved the driving hazard one particle,
rather the elimination has added another traffic hazard.
It was explained to the Pilot in this manner: Before
the curves were eliminated lumber and logging trucks
were prevented from getting too much speed in “a run”
for the south hill. Now speeds up to 70 miles an hour V . F. W. O ffic e rs
are not uncommon in this “run”.
