SEEK YE FIRST the KINGIXIM of HEAVEN
Playing at Christianity” ; “Seeking the Spectacular” * “Ap
pealing to the emotions.” These are some of the ways the
human family is using to pacify its conscience concerning its
reorganized duty to God. Is it any wonder we have so many
competing factions and such a loose living among religious
professors and such indifference among the irreligious?
When we are willing to put Christ first in our lives we will
then be led to study and meditate seriously concerning His
teaching, which will appeal to our reason as well as our emo
tions. The knowledge gained from diligent study will persuade
us that Christianity is not manifest in the spectacular but be
comes real and lively when practiced in everyday life Study’
and application will convince us that Christianity is to be
worked at rather than played with.
There is nothing greater in the human life than Christian
ity, thus to l»e profitable it must be put first. “Seek ye first
the Kingdom of Heaven, and all these things shall be added to
you.” Consider Christianity as it was lived in the lives of the
Apostles and early Chirstians and you will soon observe their
success was dut to the fact they did not plav with it, did not
pursue the spectacular, did not rely on their emotions, but
lather lived it daily, sacrificed for it and gave their lives to
promote it. What are you doing for the sake of Christ?
