The liquor interests CAN take
steps to make sure that such ad

This of course will be an incon

much of an inconvenience as is*
caused our communities and our
state by the habitual users of
these alcoholic products who fill
our jails, asylums and hospitals
to overflowing. Let’s not be so

CLEAN...VIGOROUS...EFFECT/V£ LEADERSHIP
Governor DOUG. McKAY is doing the
job the people of Oregon want done!
w The integrity of his administration has justly
’ earned the confidence of the people.
w While many states are floundering under huge
’ deficits and increasing taxes, Oregon’s budget
is balanced. We have avoided here the epi
demic of deficit spending.
w In no other 20-month period of Oregon history
’ has as much BEEN DONE in modernization
of our state institutions, construction of new
buildings for higher education, highway devel
opment (and on a pay-as-you-go basis!), tour
ist travel, peace-time industrial expansion, co
ordination of state agencies dealing with
resource conservation and development, and
effective budget control of state administra
tive expense.
