BROOKINGS-HARBOR PILOT, BROOKINGS, OREGON
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 1950
This area is about to start the
harvest of the lilies which did
so much to make this area fa-
mous. Workers are need to aid
in this harvest. Most any lily
grower is out to find sufficient
help to rush the harvest as rap
idly as possible.
Many of the growers who have
begun harvesting are finding the
freeze last winter did consider
able more damage than has been
estimated. Many grower^ have
sold more bulbs than they will
be able to produce under these
circumstances. Demand for liliy
bulbs has increased due to that.
Joy Gott was winner of the
pony given by the Boy Scouts to
raise money t o build a scout
building. The pony was donated
to the scouts by Bill Duggan who
has helped in the movement all
he could.
