That this area is growing by
leaps and bounds has been at
tested twice in the past week by
the coming here of two new
businesses: that of the Sea view
Creamery and Mr. and Mrs. Phil
lips who had come here to open
a mens store, and also bought the
Town Shop.
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Chisman
have faith in this area—they in
vested about thirty thousands in
the Seatnew Creamery, and it
wasn’t an idle fancy of theirs.
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Phillips are
equally as enthusiastic about the
area for they "have watched it”
for several years.
Wholesalers serving this area
have been telling prospective ac
counts people who are looking
for a place—to come to Brookings
area to look around. This was
told me by these two men—they
have come and have liked what
they saw and have in vest I'd in
a substantial way.
Coming to the area with a rev
olutionary idea in low-cost hous
ing is H. A. Sanders of the White
Rock Construction Co., which is
placing its initial advertising in
this issue. Certainly, the open
house, Sunday, should be quite
revealing. I saw the structure,
still unfinished, last Sunday and
