Students Reveal
Educational Plans
Five of the 19 seniors gradu-
ing this spring, who plan further
study beyond high school, were
guests of the Brookings Rotary
Club, Tuesday noon, and were
given best wishes for their ca­
reers, as they have chosen.
MaryAnn Biddle, told Rotar­
ians she planned to enter prig-
ham Young University this fall,
with a doctor of medicine degree
as her goal. She thanked the
club for this reception, and de­
clared she had long wished to
study medicine.
Margaret Byrnt» will take spe­
cial work in music this summer
at Portland, and this September
will enroll at Willamette Uni­
versity to major in music.
Lois Ann Miller will enroll at
Humboldt State, she told mem­
bers, to major in elementary ed­
ucation. She was asked why she
did not wish to pursue physical
education as a major, but offer­
ed no comment.
Charles Burtis, a transfer to
Brookings this year, said he was
going to enroll at Oregon Insti­
tute of Technology at Klamath
Falls to study refrigeration this
fall. He wished to follow a trade
rather than a profession.
Jimmy Vincent expects to at­
tend Oregon State College, to
eventually prepare himself for
commercial and news photogra­
phy. He is class valedictorian.
Promised Help On Lily Tariff
Aid, in any way possible, was
voted by the club, to lily bulb
growers of the area in their bat­
tle to prevent lowering of tar­
iff on Japanese-raised lilies com­
ing into this country. The cham­
ber of commerce and club arc
co-operating in every way pos­
sible.
