Flowers Are Assets Of Community!
There seems to exist in this community a misunderstanding over
what constitutes a flower show and a flower display, and this big
misunderstanding gives rise to dissention among some people.
When the Azalea Garden Club announced it was going to stage
its big “Fower Show" in July as member felt that at that time
the club could letter meet the requirements of the national fed
erations of garden clubs, that was their privilege.
However, some fail to remember that a flower show, or shall
we call it a floxver display, is as much a part of the Azalea Festival
as a thumb is of the hand to which it is attached! Therefore, All-
Year Events Association has made plan, not to compete with the
Garden club show on July 4, but to make the May 20 affair, a dis
play of flowers, for which this community is noted.
Since there will be no competitive displays, since there xvili be
little or no classification, a bit of supplementing was felt necessary
by All-Year Events Association, so:
Smith River Indians have been asked to display their wares of
basket-weaving and such; artists have been asked to give showings
of their works at this time. This was not done in spiteful way, but
as a friendly way to see that visitors at Azalea Festival may see
those things which make this community as well known as it is.
In a land of (lowers, certainly tlw Pilot can see that there may
be room for as many as three flower shows, displays, or what you
wish to call them, possible here each year. When that attitude is
finally reach, then this community will gain even more rapidly
that ever before. Just try it and see what happens!

On Friday, May 19. voters of Curry County will go to the polls
at the primaries. At this time there appears to be two tinîs of
concern to voters of Curry county that of a U. S. Senator and
of a district attorney. Both are important offices.
The Pilot feels strongly on these two positions. Jt will even go
out on a limb, so to speak, to say that it has a recommendation.
First, there is Ed F. Ackley, of Brookings, for District Attorney.
The Pilot has observed him, and believes he is a capable lawyer—

INSURANCE PROBLEMS*
BY PETE LESMEISTER
Question, A business friend of
mine tells me that he has a fire
insurance policy which will pay
him for loss of earnings if his

it is called and how to get it.
....Answer That form of protec

insurance policy. An additional
premium is required.
