LANGLOIS NEWS
By Nancy Moore
Archie Aldropp, local Scout
leader, reports that 21 boys have
lignified their intention of liv
ing by the Boy Scout pledge.
Their charter, for which they ap
plied recently, is expected soon.
The boys meet each Wednesday
in their quarters in the new
building which has been built
this year by volunteer labor. It
is used by Langlois Sportsmen’s
club and houses the community
fire-fighting equipment.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Kerber are
parents of a son, born to them
at Mast hospital, Myrtle Point,
April 21. The baby, who weighed
six pounds, is their fourth child.
Nancy Moore, the Langlois cor
respondent, left Thursday morn
ing for Riddle. She was one of
six bridesmaids at the wedding
of Virginia Lilly and Ernest Vic
tor of Riddle. The Moore and
Lilly families are friends of lang
standing. After the wedding Nan
cy went to Medford to spend the
week-end at the home of her
sister, returning Monday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Victor
made a brief call at the Frank
Moore home Sunday morning on
their way home from their hon
eymoon.
The Youth Dance, sponsored by
Sixes Grange, was held Friday
evening at the hall. This is an
enjoyable affair for the young
people from 12 to 92, and is al
ways attended by an enthusias
tic group.

Mrs. Charles Jensen had ar
ranged musical program for the
pleasure of the group.
Roger
Stankavich played two violin se
lections, and Mrs. Sidney Cad
man favored with two vocal
numbers.
A potted plant was given to
the second grade and one to the
jpnior class for being represented
by the greatest number of par-
e n t s present. Refreshments of
coffee and homemade cakes were
served.
Miss Dorothy Newton, HDA,
was here Thursday in connec
tion with 4-H clubs.
Various committees of the lo
cal home extension units are busy
preparing their part in the com
ing Homemakers’ Festival. Pau
line Anderson and Jean Strain
are in charge of the slipper chair
exhibit, Ollie Burgess of the style
revue, while several others are
working on posters, scrap book,
floral arrangement. Tickets for
the luncheon are on sale at Din-
ty’s in care of Pauline Anderson
and Nana Moore.
All our community is rejoic
ing with the Don Brooks family
in the return home of their son
Ronnie, who has been ill so long.
Ronnie has had a hard bout with
rheumatoid arthritis. The staff
at Doernbecker hospital have
earned the undying gratitude of
the family and friends of little
Ronnie in bringing him back to
health.
