The Azhlea Garden Club will
have their new yearbooks for the
November meeting. These books,
in my belief, excell any previous
ones through the completeness of
the club program. This club has
come a long way since its be-
gining, in 1945.
The program will take a prize,
I am certain, and I hope that the
Pilot's efforts to make the book
attractive will not lessen chances
of the club again winning first
prize in the state.
Rogers Return From An
Extended Motor Trip
By Dowry
I’ll miss Mr. Miller, who died
while in his sleep last Friday, al-|
though I never had too much op
portunity to visit with him in
the last year, or more. I always
had a deep admiration for him,
possibly because of his devout-
ness.
An immigrant from Germany,
Mr. Miller worked and completed
school in this, the country of his
choice, but not until after his
death did 1 learn he had com
pleted medical school. He was
not one given to tell about him
self he wanted to know about
his friends instead.
He lived happily, he did all in
his power to make others happy,
and he lived the life he believed
was directed by the Christ he long
had worshipped.
For a man of his age, I always
marveled at how alert he man
aged to be. He teas always smil
ing, and I seriously doubt if he
showed any other countenance to
anyone, even his children, Cer
tainly I believe he came near
being an example of manhood.
Mr. and Mrs. John Rogers re
turned home Sunday after a five-
weeks trip which took them
through eight states. They went
first to Idaho Falls, then into
Utah, Wyoming and to Colorado,
their old home, where they vis
ited a number of their children.
On the return trip they went
into New Mexico, Arizona and
California. They encountered a
lot of snow en route, thus making
their return home that much
desirable.
“Farmers in my old country,”
said Mr. Rogers, “have been do
ing exceptionally well raising
beans the past few years, and
land in that section also sells for
a thousand per acre.”
