Boosting Sole Aim
Of New Assoc'tion
| A general community rally, to
bo held Thursday, August 18,’ at
S p. m. at the high school gym,
will be called by the newly-or-
ganized group of boosters, who
seek to exploit the beauties and
advantages of this country’ as a
tourist haven.
The contest, to obtain a suit­
able name, closes Monday, Au­
gust 15, and a brief meeting of
the group will be held that eve­
ning to select a group w hich will
be submitted to the rally for fi­
nal selection.

As part of the program for the
rally meeting, August 18, mo­
tion pictures of the 1949 parade,
taken by Henry Kerr and Howard
Adams, will be shown. This is but
a part of the program, the com­
mittee believes, as there will be
discussion in addition.
Membership Drive Waits
Depending upon the name to
be chosen, membership cards in
this organization are withheld
mtil after that time. Already in
the neighborhood of 100 have
been pledged. The goal is set for
at least 2000 in this immediate
community.

Regatta Strongly Talked
While no official action has as
yet been taken, talk is going the

Promotion Sole Purpose
While this organization is be­
ing set up for exploiting this area
it is in no wise meant to inter­
fere with the chamber of com­
merce, the Rod and Gun Club,
or any organization. Its purpose
primarily is to stage festivals and
such affairs to attract people in
the area for entertainment.
