THURSDAY, APRIL 21, 1949 Homemakers BY ALDENE N. AHO, County Home Demonstration agent HELLO THERE: It was a pleasure to have Bur ton Hutton state 4-H club agent, in the county last week. In addi tion to talking at the schools and several club meetings, Mr. Hut ton was speaker at Brookings Ro tary’ club and at the Azalea Gar den club. 1 accompanied Mr. Hut ton to the Garden Club and it was an afternoon I’ll not soon forget. His speech was fine, but the highlight of the afternoon was the skit, "Fun with Flowers,” put on by the 12 Azalea 4-H Flower Girls and their leader, Mrs. Dorothy Lockland accom panying them on the piano. You w’oud have enjoyed seeing their first birthday cake decorated with candles and flowers, also the “fresh" Easter bonnets with real flowers, and the weddnig party. But most of all, youwould’ve enjoyed the real live Easter bun ny named "Snow” sitting amid flowers in a basket. Also the spe cial guests "Onion” and "Petu nia" who are twin kids, snowy white and sporting fancy fresh flower Easter bonnets. Yes, the flower girls did themselves proud f and I feel certain they gained something from this activity’ which will make them better cit izens. And helping our boys and girls be better citizens is the goal goal of all those w’ho work with 4-H clubs. Many people often find that soup or gravy turns sour rather quickly in the refrigerator. If soup is covered while still warm, then placed in the refrigerator, is is likely to turn sour sooner BROOKINGS-HARBOR PILOT. BROOKINGS. OREGON 211 South end of town fulfilled today. Won’t you please pause for a moment and seriously consider this Scripture? I low’ about the times being perilous? How about a world of little nations gone mad in their self-love? Does cov etousness have anything to do with matters in a land where 18% of the people control 95% of the wealth? There are about 15 other evidences sot forth in this text, all showing why wo are in the last perilous days of human history. This is not all: lot us notice a few’ thing that are common place in our daily experience and observances, not noted in the j foregoing quotation.
