At Klamath Falls
Five “barber shop” harmony
enthusiasts from this area drove
to Klamath Falls Friday to wit-
ness the quartet parade whicn
was held at that place.
Ernest Jones, Emil Moore, Roy
Weideman, Charles Grayshel and
Bob Perkins made up the party
from this area and all were loud
in their praise of the show, and
were unanimous in opinion that
the trip would have been worth
while even if the distance had
been twice what they traveled.

— due, no doubt, to the fact that
this was the second annual pa-
rade sponsored by 'the Klamath
Falls chapter of SPEBSQSA, In
corporated. This jumble of let
ters means “Society for the Pre
vention and Encouragement of
Barbershop Quartet Singing i n
America”.
The Klamath Falls chapter is
comprised of more than 50 mem-
bers of every walk of life. These
mon all sing in the chorus and
did a beautiful job on every num
ber they sang in the show. The
chapter meets there every week
and has averaged more than 90
per cent attendance at all meet
ings held.
Twelve quartets appeared in
the show and were from as far
away as San Francisco and Seat
tle. One quartet was comprised
high school students from Port
Angeles, Wash., another from the
Pacific College at Newberg. This
latter group were voted as one
of the best by the Brookings at
tendants.
A movement is under way to
organize a local chapter of
SPEBSQSA and every man who
likes to sing or listen is welcome
to attend. The next meeting will
be held Monday, April 18, at 8
at the basement of the Baptist
Community church.
