------ BARTON W. MARSH—
"In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. The same
was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and
without him was not anything
made that was made. In him was
life and the life was the light of
men. And the light shineth in
darkness; and the darkness com-
prehendeth it not. This is the
true light which lighteth every
man that comething into the
world. He was in the world, and
the world was made by him.
and the world knew him not. He
came unto his own, and his own
received him not. But as many as
received him, to them gave he
power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on
his name." John 1:1-5, 9-12.
Again in John 17:5 we have
the following from the lips of
Christ himself: "And now’, ()
Father, glorify thou me w i t h
thine own self with the glory
which I had with thee befor? the
world was."
Paul affirms these Scripture.;
with the following: “For by him
all things created, that are in
heaven, and that are in earth,
visible and invisible, whether t,hey
be thrones, or dominions, or
principalities, or powers: All
things were created by him and
for him." Colossians 1:16.
Before the world was created,
Christ led the angelic army that
exiwllod Lucifer from heaven,
sometime later it was Christ
that created this planetary sys
tem and peopled the (arm with
living beings. Later it was Christ
that walked and talked with
Adam and Eve in the garden of
Eden and warned them against
the designs of Lucifer. Afte r the
fall of man it was Christ who
told the homeless pair that he,
himself, would interpose in their
behalf, and that he. Christ, the
only name under heaven by which
they could be saved from eter
nal death, would give up his life
as a substitute Iteforv the law
which they had broken. See Acts
4:10-12.
From Genesis to Malachi it is

of Holy Writ just as completely
as he illuminates the pages of the
New Test ament from Matthew to
Revelation. The cross of Christ
points two ways, backward thru
the Old Testament to creation
and the Garden of Eden, and
forward thru the New Testament
to his second coming and the
resurrection of the righteous
dead. When Christ returns for
his people which have been re
deemed by the sacrifice of his
own blood shed upon Calvary, the
plan of salvation will have been
completed, sin and all its mis
cries will be forever banished
from the universe, satan and his
angels, root and branch, will
cease to exist, and torment and
sorrow will be no more.
"For behold, the day cometh,
that shall burn as an oven; and
all the proud, yea, and all that
do wickedly, shall be as stubble:
and the day that cometh shall
burn them up, saith the Lord of
hosts, that it shall leave them
neither root nor branch. But un
to you that fear my name shall
the Son of righteousness arise
with healing in his wings; and ye
shall go forth anti grow up as
calves of the stall. And ye shall
tread down the wicked; for they
shall be ashes under your feet
in the day that I shall do this,
saith the Lord of hosts. Malachi
4:1-3.
