After completing the re-sur
facing of the highway between
the state line and Carpenterville.
the highway department paving
crew gathered up all its equip
ment Thursday and moved to
the v icinity of Gold Beach, where
it will pick up the job and com
plete the work to the vicinity of
Ophir on that setting.
A highway patrol crew will be
established in this area, it is
understood, to keep the surface
in constant repair, and not al
low it to break down as was the
case last winter.

A t Goetz Cottage
Not to be outdone by competi
tors of area, Gordon Goetz, last
wjfek, added two more cottages
to his string which he recently
purchased from Mr. and Mrs.
Lockhart.
Loaded w i t h “doubles',, Mr.
Goetz told the Pilot that he
had no single cabins to rent to
travelers. He overcame this by
eliminating the garages between
cabins, and converting them intoj
single bed cabins.
Electric heat will be installed
as soon as possible, replacing the
oil heaters, now in each cabin.
