Howdy, Folks: This is the time
of the year when a man feels
like going fishing. We’ve been
thinking so much about it lately
our brain is reeling.

We’d like some salt w ater
fishing ju st for the halibut.

We used to fish at a certain
lake last summer. There were
lot of fish in th at lake—there
should be even yet because we
never caught any of them.*

They tell the story about
Bob Perkins and Ken T ay
lor, or was it Snafu Kemp,
who went there duck hunting.
Bob, they say, bent the barrel
of his gun, yetting into his
duck blind. N ot noticing it
he blazed away at a duck
coming into m ake a three-
point landing. Bob didn't hit
that duck, but killed a whole
f ln r k - in a t behind it. and when
he picked him self up out of
the lake, his pockets were
full of fish.

ADVICE TO FISH ER M EN

We are working hard to provide tele
phones for everyone who wants one, and
to rebuild our service until it is again the
finest in America.
Before we can accomplish these objec
tives, we must install a tremendous amount
of equipment—wires, cable, switchboards,
buildings and so on. We call this equip
ment "plant".
We are installing this new equipment
as rapidly as we can secure it but many
critical items such as lead and copper are
still difficult or impossible to obtain.
During the year of 1947, w e promise
to "grow" as much new "plant" and as
many new phones as the supply of incom
ing materials will allow.
