Defiance of ( PA orders at G rants Pass puts an o th er test case
of governm ent agencies up before the public—and predictions at
this time are that CPA will fare the same way OPA did when it
ordered resta u ra n ts to roll back prices to those of June 30.
The public, during the war. was liberal—it took anything w ithout
locking, but now, when soldiers and sailors are home, seeking to
establish themselves in the “American w ay” of life, people find
m ore hindrances from a bunch at W ashington who do not know
the score, have no practical knowledge, and seem not to care.
If veterans were getting m aterials to build homes, if the public
could only be sure of such, then it is not likely th a t G rants Pass
would be the guinea pig in this nation-wide test case.
Perhaps defiane on p art of G rants Pass isn’t the answer, but
since every movement must sta rt from somewhere. G rants Pass
Is just as good a place as any to begin

this community, this nation and the world. Please analyze!
The world is now passing through, or about to pass through

past labor troubles have been experienced. Such is true today.
