"Man” was the subject of the
Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of
Christ. Scientist, on Sunday, Sep
tember 8.
The Golden Text was, "Lo, this
only have 1 found, that God hath
made man upright." (Eccl. 7 29).
j Among the citations which com
prised the Lesson-Sermon was the
following from the Bible: "I am
the Lord, and there is none else,
there is no God beside me: I gird
ed these, thou has not known me:
I have made the earth, and cre
ated man upon it. I have raised
him up in righteousness, and I
will direct all his ways: He shall
build my city, and he shall let
go my captives, not for price nor
reward, saith the Lord of hosts.”
(Isa. 45:5, 12, 13).
The lesson-sermon also includ
ed the following correlative pas
sages from the Christian Science
textbook. "Science and Health
with Key to the Scriptures" by
Mary Baker Eddy: "In Science
many is the offspring of Spirit.
The beautiful, good, and pure con
stitute his ancestry. Spirit is his
primitive and ultimate source of
being; God is bis Father, and Life
is the law of his being” (p. 63).
