Mr. and Mrs. E arl M urphy, who
lived in this vicinity previous to
the last war, stopped off to renew
acquaintances, last week, on a
trip from Portsm outh, Va. E arl
is a veteran of World W ar I who
re-entered the service as an elec
trician, for the second w ar, and
served as officer in charge of all
electrical equipm ent on the super
battleship Iowa, on which he saw
action off the N orth African coast
and in the south, cen tral, and
north Pacific. He is now on te r
m inal leave and will, this w inter,
go on inactive sta tu s as a lieu-
tenant. They plan to live in San
Francisco.
