What a merciful C reator,
Mindful of His children all.
When at eve He draws the curtain
O 'er this great terrestial ball.
"In the daylight ye have labored,
Come apart and rest awhile,”
Hear the gentle Savior saying,
"Come and rest from your tol.”

W hat a merciful Creator,
He remembers we are dust.
He has said. I ’ll not forsake thee’
And in Him we safely trust.
He has m easured dark and light.,
He has planned our earthly day
He will bid us at the sunset,
"W eary Pilgrim, come way.”

Compost Study Is

NOW!
OREGON
Robert Sloan, who lives north
of Brookings, has been studying
compost and its relation to the
lily industry since he was dis
charged from the arm y air corps
Already, he has made many dis
coveries. which, as he states, are
vital to the future of the lily in
dustry’.
"Commercial fertilizers are in
jurious to the soil, especially if
bud count is expected from the
commercial lilies we expect to
sell,” he told the Pilot Monday
while asking permission to w rite
a weekly column concerning com
post.
Mr. Sloan is ready to hack up
every statem ent of his with facts
from scientists who have made
a study through research. He, in
a small way, has been carry ing on
expenrm ents of his own, and is
now’ about to e n te r upon a ven
tu re of m anufacturing compost
for sale to everyone in the area.
“I have sold some land, I am
selling a light plant, and every
thing I can tu rn into money, to
get this enterprise under way.
Frankly, I see no other way for
