THURSDAY JUNE 2 It’s time for the cooks to take center stage. For the fi rst time in two years — and at a new home — FOOD For Lane County’s Chef ’s Night Out is returning. Chef ’s Night Out outgrew its Hult Center lobby home since 1993, and this year’s roster of restaurants is a perfect example of that growth. Upward of 40 eateries — from Café Soriah to Da Nang Vietnamese Eatery, Lion & Owl to Pig & Turnip — will be taking part in the event and off ering samples, including from the students of the Network Charter School Culinary Arts Program. Breathe in the aroma and sample the slow cooked food from Bacon Nation or the delightful fare of Screamin’ Jay’s Hot Lunch. Wash it down with a glass of merlot from Bo’s Wine Depot or the Oregon Wine Lab. For dessert, try something from Elegant Elephant Baking Co., Mad Batters Bakery or Pinch of Salt Bakery. To make sure you get your fill, follow dessert with beer from either Falling Sky Brew- ing or Ninkasi Brewing. It’s been a rough two years for restaurants, but the maestros of the kitchen will be out in full force, so bring your appetite for a good cause and vote for the People’s Choice Award. It will be worth it. FOOD For Lane County’s Chef ’s Night Out is 6:30 to 9 pm Monday, June 6, at the Lane Events Center, 796 W. 13th Avenue. $75 for general admission, $95 for early entrance at 5:30 pm (only 250 early spots available). — Dan Buckwalter E U G E N E W E E K LY .
