    CALENDAR
The upcoming First Friday ArtWalk, on Friday, Sept. 1, is
paired with Fiesta Cultural, a celebration of Latino art and
heritage that will take place September through December.
Fiesta Cultural is a “county-wide initiative to increase
opportunities for integration of Latino individuals into the broader
community through the arts,” according to Lane Arts Council’s
website. The fiesta starts during First Friday ArtWalk at 5 pm in
Kesey Square. It’s partnered with the city of Eugene’s Cultural
Services and EUGfun! and will include a salsa dance lesson with
José Cruz of Salseros Dance Company, a bilingual guided tour of
art galleries and tabling by community partners along with other
events. Later, Fiesta Cultural will also have events in Cottage
Grove’s Art Walk (on Sept. 29) as well as other dance, music and
art events spanning through December. For a full schedule of
events, visit lanearts.org/fiesta-cultural. — Meerah Powell
