Remember fun? Somewhere along the way we lost our ability to have it. Shit, we may even have forgotten how. Every
chance we get, we nail up bright yellow diamond-shaped signs to remind each other of the inherent mortal danger
lurking in traditionally fun places, like playgrounds and beaches. The message: fun is bad for you. In school we’re forced
to watch health class videos that reprogram us to think in terms of death and disease at the mention of sex. And when
we hear loud music we begin to panic about the damage it’s doing our eardrums. Enough is enough. Wearing reflective
vests and hard hats, the safety-minded Seattle punks of Warning: Danger!, who perform Friday at Black Forest, fight to
bring fun back from the dead. The lyrics are simple, the chords are powerful, and even though they look a little too much
like high school math teachers, they’re fun.
Warning: Danger! performs 10pm Friday, June 17, at Black Forest, 50 E. 11th Ave.; FREE, as all good fun should be.
