CALENDAR
It’s time to share your visions … of what an industrialized Pisgah would look like? Or
not. The Seavey Loop neighbors who have been fi ghting to preserve the area’s rural and
farm-oriented qualities are calling upon opponents to Springfi eld’s proposed UGB (urban
growth boundary) to attend the city’s “visioning workshops.” Springfi eld says the goal
for the College View UGB Study Area is to address “appropriate and realistic industrial and
commercial development types, preservation of farm land and natural resources, accessi-
bility, sustainability and environmental quality.” Seavey Loop landowner Charles Stewart
has been spearheading the “No Seavey Loop Industrial Zone” eff orts, and he takes issue
with Springfi eld’s sudden announcement of the workshops in our Letters to the Editor
this week. To fi nd out more, go to noindustrialpisgah.org or attend one of the upcoming
meetings.
