As much as Oregonians love their IPAs, there
are, in fact, other kinds of beer. On Dec. 19,
the folks at Falling Sky Brewing & Fermenta-
tion Supply Shop and The Bier Stein will host
From the Source: Malt, an educational oppor-
tunity to acquaint yourself with the maltier
side of beer. Malt is the grain in beer that
provides a source of fermentable sugars, and
depending on the malt, the fl avors can range
from sweet to the grainy, bread-like quality
found in many beers. After learning all about
how malt is made and used, stick around to
try samples of four malt-driven beers.
