They say that laughter is the best medicine. An
absurd cliché, of course, because it’s diffi cult
to imagine a situation in which one’s life,
health or livelihood depends solely upon
laughter. Well, here’s one: for four
comedians this week, a distinct
lack of laughter will get them
sent home in disgrace at the
fi nal round of Oregon’s Last
Comedian Standing. Comics
Steven Kirby, Will Woodruff,
Todd Armstrong and Dan
Paul are all that remain from
an original lineup of 30 — a
number that has thinned
via elimination rounds since
early March. Four remain;
three must fl op. It’s a game
of comedy thrones, and
there’s no telling who will take
the top seat. Spoiler alert: one
of the contestants has dragon’s
blood fl owing in his veins.
Oregon’s Last Comedian Standing
starts 8pm Saturday, April 20, at The City
