Poet, storyteller and tour veteran Chris Chandler has lived out of his guitar case and carved a
name for himself in folksy towns all across what he calls the United States of Generica. Having
worked with the likes of Ani DiFranco, Pete Seeger and even Allen Ginsberg, Chandler’s projects
are as versatile as they are cultured. Hell, he even scored a job on Broadway but turned it down
in favor of road life.
The son of a Baptist minister from Georgia, Chandler is an oddball nomad as well as an
active artist-citizen, who many a time has lent his voice and songs to anti-war protests and
social justice benefi ts. With festival chops ranging from Lollapalooza to the Vancouver Folk
Festival, Chandler’s mix of storytelling, political theater and music is not something to miss
when it rolls into town. Also, look to see another acoustic road warrior, Paul Benoit, add his
fl are to Chandler’s poetic rabblerousing.
