There are some weekends where so much is going
on, it’s hard to suggest any one event over the others.
This is one of those weekends, but we thought we’d
give it a shot with a few choice cuts.
In case you didn’t know folks, it’s offi cially Eugene
Beer Week. That means places like Ninkasi Brewing,
Falling Sky Brewing House, Hop Valley Brewing
Company, 16 Tons and The Bier Stein will be offering
discounts and specialty brews galore. No matter what
kind of beer drinker you are, there will be something
you love fl oating around town this week, so get out
there and hit the taps. Beer week runs from Monday,
May 7, to Sunday May, 13.
Another awesome event is the annual Peace and
Justice Festival at Wellsprings Friends School, where
a number of guest speakers will lecture on community
restoration, trauma healing and change beyond the
Occupy movement. In Accord Choir will be on-site,
singing songs of peace and justice, and a youth panel
with a focus on community healing in schools will be
