Sorenson is planning a benefit music event from

• The local NAACP in partnership with the city of
Eugene is holding the 21st Annual ACT-SO Talent
Competition at 7 pm Saturday, April 7, at the Hult
Center. ACT-SO is an acronym for Academic, Cultural,
Technological and Scientific Olympics. The
performances are free and open to the public. For

• Move-On.org is planning to train 100,000 people
to tell the story of what happened to the economy
and to teach “how to join together in the work of
reclaiming our country through sustained nonviolent
action” during the week of April 9-15. The 99%

Local attorney Ellen Singer responded to a
GEARs listserv request for the names of lawyers who
have experience representing cyclists injured by car
drivers. Singer is a cyclist, a member of GEARs, and a
personal injury attorney with 33 years of experience
representing injured cyclists, motorcyclists and

Bike Friday in west Eugene this week hosted
Oregon’s Sen. Jeff Merkley on his tour of Oregon
manufacturing facilities. Joining Merkley for the tour
and round-table discussion were Hanna Scholz and

Electrical Geodesics, Inc., Brett Williams of Life
