REI and the City of Eugene will be joining with more than 100 volunteers and
community organizations to clean up the banks of the Willamette River on June 23rd.
Volunteer crews and boaters will be removing garbage and debris to help restore our
urban riverfront from Island Park (in Springfield) to the Beltline exchange on the North
Bank (in Eugene).
If you or your group is interested in helping with this effort, please sign up with a
participating community partner or at REI’s Customer Service desk, or call 465-1800.
Event organizers will provide tools, water, restrooms, and instruction. Please come
prepared with appropriate footwear, clothing, and gloves. This clean up project is not
recommended for volunteers under the age of 15.
