Academy for Alternative Journalism, estab-
lished papers like this one to promote diversity
in the alternative press, seeks talented journal-
ists and students (college seniors and up) for a
paid summer writing program at Northwestern
University’s Medill School of Journalism. The
eight-week program (June 17-August 12, 2007)
aims to recruit talented candidates from
diverse backgrounds and train them in maga-
zine style feature writing. Ten participants will
be chosen and paid $3,000 plus housing and

The draft permit allows for an increase in
hydrogen fluoride emissions from 1.8 tons
per year to 5.0 tons per year. In addition,
the draft permit contains emission limits
for the following criteria pollutants: PM10
=2 tons per year , SO2=1 ton per year, NOx=8
tons per year, VOC=25 tons per year, and
CO=23 tons per year. The faclilty is located
in a non-attainment area for PM10. More
information on the facility’s emissions is
contained in the review report. The applica-
tion, draft permit, and review report are
available for public review at the Reference
Desk at the Eugene Public Library and at
LRAPA’s office located at 1010 Main Street,
Springfield, Oregon. To obtain a copy of the

received no later than 5:00 p.m., February
13, 2007 and submitted to: LRAPA Permit

facility’s emissions is contained in the

area that is in attainment for all criteria pol-
lutants. All testimony received will be con-
sidered in LRAPA will review all of the infor-

EPA for review before it is issued.
