Winners Announced for ODFW
Annual Stamp Art Contests
Salem, OR – The winning artwork
was selected for the 2025 Waterfowl,
Upland Game Bird, and Habitat
Conservation stamp art contests. This
year’s artwork was judged at ODFW
Headquarters in Salem on Oct. 29 by
a panel of independent judges. The
winning artwork will be featured on
collector stamps and other promotional
items that support wildlife and habitat
conservation efforts in Oregon.

of Etna Green, Ind., for his artwork

For the Upland Game Bird
category, Buck Spencer of Junction
City, Ore., claimed first place with his
portrayal of the California quail. Click

Elk Creek Glass
Elk Creek Glass has adapted the
school schedule this year, to only
provide glass blowing in the Fall,
Winter and Spring, after realizing
the summertime heat is too difficult
for new students. It takes time for
students to get used to working in
front of a 2000 degree glory hole
with hot glass. It’s much easier for

students to concentrate on learning
the glass working techniques when the
weather is cool and it’s enjoyable to be
standing in the heat of the hot shop.
Zohar is in the process of adding a
new smaller furnace that will be easier
for students to gather from and more
affordable for the school to operate.
That means they can be open more time
each month and be teaching even more.
Things that were hits this last
year included classes being booked
by entire families. It’s a very exciting
and intense activity and everyone
ends up with a unique keepsake.
Avi also had several families reach
out to commission him to make
a memorial piece of glass that
included the ashes of a loved one.

A total of 21 entries were received for
the Upland Game Bird, showcasing
the California quail. For Waterfowl
Stamp, 14 entries depicted Barrow’s
goldeneye, ring-necked duck, and
white-winged scoter. Additionally,
19 entries showcased select strategy
species for the Habitat Conservation
Terri Neal of Portland, Ore., secured
first place in the Habitat Conservation
category with her depiction of an

Each first-place artist will receive a
prize award of $2,000 in recognition of
their exceptional talent and contribution
to wildlife conservation. The winning
artwork will serve as the face of the
2025 collector stamps and various
promotional items, with proceeds
from sales dedicated to vital habitat
improvement, research, surveys, and
conservation projects.
