Residents around Drain seem to
look forward to the annual event.
On Cedar St. I ran into Sally Sheppard,
her daughter Amber and granddaughter
Chelsea maninng their wares from the
comfort of a canopy of shade trees. Known
as the Fairy House, Sally has an enterpris-
ing hobby of building, collecting and
promoting her passion of Fairy Houses.
After I spent a little time browsing her
table wares and domiciles, she invited
me in to see the “Pièce de Résistance”.
What did I find? Well that’s another
story, check out “The Fairy House” below.
A little later I found myself talking
with David and Jerry Luke and his son
Mike. It was a nice spread of goods
right across from the Civic Center. What
caught my eye was Davids collection
of hot wheels and model cars. Took
me back to being 12 years old again.
And it was like that all day. From Neal
and his mom, Laurie Lundeen working on
N 1st to Lois and Mary inside the Civic
Center to Diane and Jina on W. “ D” Ave, it
was a positive and upbeat social gathering.
The Fairy House
When you go through Drain on Hwy99,
or Cedar, you’ll pass the Fairy House. You
cant miss it, for all the Fairy Houses out in
the front yard!
