OUR TOWN - Local Issues
Citizens in small town Oregon are looking for answers to their local neighbor-
hood and community issues. Are you active in your community? Do you see the
efforts of those who are, paying off in a way that benefits us? Whether you de-
cide to go to City Hall with your observations or if you would prefer to advocate
loudly, yourself, the results may or may not come through.
Many feel frustraded, in general, when it comes to our governance, local,
state level or federal. Are you looking for the voices of those who are intended
to be our duly elected representatives? Do you have any answers, questions
and/or opinions?
The North Douglas Herald is interested in YOUR take on how things are run.
Drains Fairy House
Continued from Page 4
I had the chance to meet the Fairy Lady, Sally Shepard, her daughter Amber
and Granddaughter, Chelsea. After inviting me in, I was blown away at eclectic
collection of strange Americana. Besides her Fairy houses, Sally has a veritable
museum of shocking and visually stunning memorabilia both inside and outside.
Sally also exhibits a great affenity for Halloween. Thanks for the tour Sally.
ODOT is considering removing the
eastbound stop sign on Hwy 38 at the
intersection of Hwy 38 and N Cedar
Street. An ODOT representative has
stated in an email to the citizens that
wrote letters to ODOT and the City of
Drain..
“ODOT staff needs more time to re-
view current and past data before mak-
ing a final decision.”
The representative also stated, “if the
decision is to move forward with the
signs removal, ODOT will first allow
an opportunity to meet with the com-
munity to discuss the reasoning behind
the decision and be open to additional
feedback”.
