Highlights from Drain’s City Wide Yard Sale
Lois Inmann & Dolly at the Library Raffle
By Rusty Savage
Drain OR - On August 12th, the people of Drain, again, had their city wide yard sale
event. It’s an effort that brings some positive energy and stimulas into the town. Although
it looked a little sparse from the main street, I found that sales were going in just about
every neighborhood and there were maps available through the Civic Center that helped.
According to Peggy Carson at 1st Baptist Church, “They did a really good job this
year”. The promotion is a year long labor of love for the organizers and the center of
attraction was the indoor booths at the Civic Center. A friendly atmosphere for sure.
The stream of travelers on Hwy’s 99 and 38 insured a steady influx of new customers
turning over hourly. I saw a couple of RV’s pulled in and parked so the occupants could
chase down a few deals. I only stopped at about a dozen sales or so and I met the nicest
people, happy to represent the town of Drain and eager to show their wares. Cont.pg 4
