moved to Sandy fo u r years ago,

they viewed the q u ilt

begin la yin g eggs on filb e rt tree
leaves and the eggs begin hatching
into la rva e a fte r a period of eight to
10 days
A fte r h atching, the la rva e move to
the underside of filb e rt leaves where
they begin feeding The young larvae
are qu ite a c tiv e u n til they fin d a
filb e rt nut to enter
The w o rm enters between the nut
shell and the husk When it reaches a
tig h t space it begins boring into the
soft tissue of the husk E v e n tu a lly the
w orm bores into the nut itse lf, n un-
ing it
