The Sandy City Council plans to
hold a workshop on proposed changes
to a sign ordinance now that a com ­
m ittee studying the issue has com­
pleted its work
Joe I-angella, the owner of a
downtown restaurant, and other
business people are proposing
changes to the city 's sign ordinance
I.angella has met w ith about five
other business people, with help from
several others, on proposed changes
to the code
Councilor Jim B uff said the council
would hold a workshop on the propos­
ed changes, with business owners in ­
vited to participate A public hearing
would lx- held before any changes
were made to the ordinance. Duff
said

Highlights of the proposal include
increasing the allowable signage
from 50 square feet to 200 square feet

round, and giving the city staff the
functions of the Design Review
